Lynnde is fully walking! She did this on her her 14 month birthday....8/12/09. She just decided she would walk so she did. She also crawled up and sat in her rocking chair and then got down all by herself. Such a big girl. I'll post pictures soon. Things are really busy right now. We are having a party at our house tomorrow for my grandparents 60th anniversary...Happy Anniversary Nana & Pa! We love you very much!

Yes I know I'm way behind on this blog. Things are really busy with us constantly chasing Lynnde around. The most common thing said around our house is 'Lynnde No Ma'am' & 'No Lynnde'. She still only has the two bottom teeth. Her top two will be coming in shortly, they have been swollen and she has been a pretty cranky little miss here lately.
Now that it is summer time we have been outside more and she loves it. Things she loves right now: ice, bubbles, long walks outside in her wagon, watching birds & other animals, swinging in her new swing, playing with blocks, and Mommy's tupperware, (Yes she has discovered my tupperware cabinet and I have way too much.), being outside and walking. She has taken a few steps by herself if Chris & I are right there. But she will not let go if we are walking through the house. She'll let go one of these days and she will be running through the house. We know she is capable of walking by herself, but she has to get the confidence to do it. The last couple of days she will walk with just holding onto one hand...so we are getting there. Another big accomplishment that she has done lately is we are trying to teach her a few words in sign language. She has signed to us that she wants 'more' food or drink, and I love you. We are making progress in that area. We haven't been working with her as much as I would like but we are doing it. I'm not sure what we will work on next, but we will be adding to what she will be able to sign to us. She is saying a few words like duck, hi, go, Da (everything seems to be Da or Dada), and yes. She is able to point and grunt at what she wants and doesn't want. For the 4th of July we had a cookout at our house & walked up the street to see the fireworks. The fireworks weren't that good this year compared to years previous. But we still enjoyed seeing the family. Of course Lynnde got a lot attention which she loves. She got to fly around like an airplane thanks to her 2nd cousin Justin. My dad bought our first watermelon this year. She had a wonderful new toy of rolling it around the kitchen. She doesn't like the taste of watermelon, but she loves playing with it. She still rolls them around and she has even tried picking them up, of course she can't. She recently decided to hug and kiss the watermelon. Chris & I just stood there laughing. We took Lynnde to the Cleburne Splash station, she liked the kiddy pool but not so much in the bigger pool. Maybe when she can walk and play she will enjoy it better. There was a few water fountains that sprayed up from the kiddy pool and she tried to drink out of them. Chris & laughed at her. We plan to go back, maybe when she can walk....which will be any day now. She has been in a very loving mood lately. We just can't get enough hugs and kisses from her. No one can give hugs and kisses like your baby girl. She brightens up our day. Anytime we are laying in the floor she loves to tackle us and gives us hugs and kisses. We've been having lots of fun with her. We'll post more pictures soon. Wednesday, June 17. 2009Dallas World AquariumTuesday, June 16. 2009Lynnde's 12 month updates
We have a second tooth. The bottom right made its way through about a week after the first one. We've recently had Lynnde's 1st year pictures taken. I'm so glad we got good pictures of her teeth. Portrait Innovations does great work and they aren't that expensive.
What is Lynnde doing lately? She isn't quite walking by herself. She will either walk holding onto your fingers and is slowly venturing out to walking with push toys. She will walk around the furniture. She has just recently discovered how to pull up and then sit down by herself. Up until this point, she's pulled up on things, only to discover she didn't quite know how to get back down. She has been really interested in the cabinet knobs and managed to get them open a couple of times. I noticed one time that it got really quiet in her bedroom so I checked on her. Well she had managed to open a drawer and scattered everything in it out on the floor. We've also been working with her on showing us how old she was going to be, well she has mastered it. And she has also discovered her nose....and is picking it...what every parent dreads....LOL. Well as of last Sunday night Lynnde is fully weaned. So far she has been doing alright. She is still pretty clingy to her Mommy. It's a big change for her but I think she was ready and it is time to move on. She is doing wonderful on whole milk. She also has recently discovered chocolate! Yes she is a true female, she loves it! I baked chocolate chip cookies and she loves them too! She might be a cookie lover like her Mommy & Mimi. We still have to give her softer foods due to the lack of teeth! Monday, June 15. 2009Birthday Party
Okay I'm way behind on the posting I've got lots of pictures so I'll break this up into a couple of post. Here are a few pictures from the Lynnde's birthday party. Chris & I made the birthday cakes this year. We had a lot of fun. The party was at a local park. We had a great turn out and loads of fun. Everyone survived the heat & wind. I think we need a bigger house. Thanks everyone for all of the birthday presents & wishes. Lynnde loves all of her gifts.

Here are some pictures. I can't believe its almost here but we are planning a certain little lady's 1st birthday party. I'm taking on the task of making the birthday cake. I did a trial run this past weekend. I was really pleased at how it turned out. I'll post pictures of the final cake and the birthday party.

Wow our household has gotten so much busier now that Lynnde is crawling. Within a week she was considered our cute little shadow. Now that its been a few weeks she is almost in a dead run when she crawls. Now she is wanting to walk when you hold her hands. She is pulling up and standing onto anything she can. I think she will be walking before she is 1. She still doesn't have any teeth. She is working on her vocal skills. She is trying to say duck, Daddy, ball (in her words she is saying them). She loves giving kisses and hugs. We are very proud of her, she is doing wonderful, she is so amazing. She brightens up our day when we've had the worst of days. We can't imagine not having her. It makes me sad to think, we are already planning her first birthday party. Wow! Time is flying by so fast.

Lynnde is officially CRAWLING!!!!!
Monday, March 23. 2009Wednesday, March 18. 20099 Months old!
Lynnde has passed the 9 month mark weighing in at 19 lbs and is 27 1/4 inches long. Doctor seemed really pleased with Lynnde at her checkup. Lynnde is showing a shy side. If she could have crawled through me she would have when the doctor came into the room. She plastered herself to me and would not let go of me until he was in the room a while. She's definitely my child. I'm very shy too, until I get to know you, then I will open up to you. People always tell me stories of hiding behind my parents leg when I was growing up. If I could now, I would probably hide behind them to this day. Lynnde still doesn't have any teeth, my toothless 9 month old. I love my toothless smiles. She is getting around more, either by rolling or by army crawling. She is getting on her knees and rocking a lot, but she she isn't reaching for things while on her knees. Even when we put her favorite toys out of her reach she gets flat on her belly and wiggles her way to get it. One of these days she will figure out how to crawl. Right now she is content with rolling everywhere. She loves her walker. She is able to go throughout the house discovering the different rooms. One day I was home with her while Chris was working, she was so cute in her walker and she was in the hallway. She stood at the office door got on her tippy toes, leaning over, peeking in the room (the door was closed most of the way), she started screaming DAA DAA DAA several times, breaking between screams....like "Daddy where are you, I'm here, come and play with me!" It was really sweet. I had to call Chris at work and tell him. I wished I had the camera out at that time to get it on video. Lynnde is working on her finer skills of picking up stuff with her thumb and pointer fingers and feeding it to herself...foods like cherrios, and mum mums. Generally things end up on the floor, as every parent should know. She loves throwing her toys in the floor and leaning over and looking at them....How did that get there??? Then she gives us this look so the first couple of times we give in and get it for her but after that we see that she is doing it on purpose it stays there or gets put where she can see it but out of her reach. This weekend we are going to take her to get her picture with the easter bunny. I hope she doesn't scream her head off in the pictures.
Here is a couple funny pictures of Lynnde. We put her to bed, she cried for a few minutes and fell asleep. We went back in there to cover her up and this is what we found. Needless to say we moved her before going to bed. Wednesday, March 11. 2009Tuesday, March 3. 2009 |
